LOLER Inspections For Care Homes

Typically, the types of plants that you might expect to find at Care Homes are covered under LOLER & PUWER regulations.

Hot Water Heating/Supply Systems if under 100⁰C operating pressure will be exempt from the PSSR and are non-statutory but are required to be inspected annually.

Under LOLER typical types of plant that could be found on-site would be Patient Hoists and Harnesses, Bath Hoists and Stair Lifts.

There may be Passenger Lifts that are required to be inspected 6 months a year due to carrying people or Goods Lifts that carry goods only and are required to be inspected 12 months a year.

Electrical Testing and Inspection covers Electrical Installations, e.g. Fixed Wiring and Portable Appliances.
